What does Islam say about anxiety and fear of the future?

No one can know for sure what awaits them tomorrow, and this uncertainty may be a source of anxiety and fear for many people.

But Islam offers a different meaning for dealing with the unknown, based on faith in God and trust in His wisdom and mercy.

A Muslim is commanded to strive, plan, and take the necessary steps, but he realizes that not all the results are under his control.

Herein lies the meaning of reliance; that a person does what he can, then entrusts to God what he cannot control, as God says in the Holy Qur’an: “And whoever relies upon Allāh - then He is sufficient for him.” [At-Talāq 65 : 3]

In Islam, tranquility does not mean knowing what will happen tomorrow, but rather trusting in God while continuing to work and strive.
